This recipe is perhaps the simplest and the most "gay" among those of Carnival sweets, it is nevertheless the most successful. So much so that it is found throughout Italy, although under different names: they call grostoli in Friuli, Emilia Sfrappole, Galani in Veneto, Marche Frappe, Cenci in Tuscany, Campania chatter. The variation in the various regional recipes, is made from Marsala or white wine, or reaching from, or anise liqueur.
prepared according to the prescription of thirty grostoli:
Ingredients:
500 g white flour 50 g of lard


2 tablespoons oil 100 g sugar 2 eggs

yeast

lemon peel 1 small glass of grappa
1 cup milk salt


oil for frying powdered sugar for garnish or normal

Preparation: The preparation of grostoli is actually very simple: to prepare a well mixed dough with all the ingredients, the dough is then rolled on a shelf and pulled a thin sheet.
