Participants are asked to register in advance for logistical reasons and to briefly describe his speech. Participants need not necessarily make a presentation, but may also only attend and participate at the event. BarcampTurin In conjunction with the weekend of December 2 will take place in other third world barcamp in Washington DC, and Ottawa in Bangalore
What is a Barcamp? The BarCamp is an international network of conferences open to all and not by invitation, based on participatory events, presentations and workshops whose contents are made by the participants. The first BarCamp was held in Palo Alto, organized in less than a week with 200 participants. Since then, from Boston to Bangalore were organized dozens of Barcamp in 31 different cities in the world.
The first Italian BarCamp is took place in Milan. BarCamp is a rethink in the internet version of a conference but is managed and organized by the participants, with a "live" meetings open to anyone who has something to say, to keep communication and desire to listen. It is normally organized in a very short time, through a wiki that serves as an aggregator of interest in the same. In parallel, the promotion takes place through Web sites or blogs that revived the Barcamp.
The U.S. is preparing a mega Barcamp program in Chicago near the end of August 2007 in which more than 5,000 participants are expected.
